Video to All iPhone Models

iVidCam is something first-generation iPhone owners didn’t even dream of. It’s an application that renders the iPhone 2G’s camera video-capable. Best of all, the app comes in free form.

iPhone OS 3.0 delivers pretty much the same functionality across all existing iPhone models, with very few discrepancies emerging thanks / due to hardware differences.

Recording Features:
- 280x360 video resolution for both portrait and landscape;
- 3-7 frames per second. (highest allowed by Apple developer kit);
- No recording time limit. Longer videos take a while to encode, so be prepared.

Archive and Share Your Videos Using:
- WiFi Transfer to Desktop;
- YouTube Uploader;
- Email YouTube Link;
- Tweet Link With Twitter.

Other Features:
- Plays well on QuickTime;
- Built-in landscape movie viewer;
- Encodes and saves your videos as mp4 files.

Initial experiences with iPhone 3.0 beta

The initial messages about the new version of FW 3.0 sound very good, but the personal experience is always the best evaluation. My experiences with iPhone 3.0 beta are, as follows:

More languages - Copy & Paste - QWERTY keyboard - Search in the OS - Sending more pictures and plenty of other functions

The new function Copy & Paste is very effective and simple. The new search engine in the Spotlight style seems to be very useful. You can also send more pictures via one email message now. There are also small improvements of the email client.

The sound recorder is the new application on the mainscreen, there are new settings for MMS and SMS pop-ups, but not functional yet. Bluetooth is improved and you can now connect to your Mac/PC via bluetooth.

Unfortunately, many mistakes from FW 2.2.1 remain, e.g. dark screen during calls does not change after the call, the maps do not function etc.

Let's wait for the complete 3.0 version, but I do not expect any revolution ... :o(

Shocking roaming fees on iPhones !

Referring to the International Herald Tribune article, the iPhone owners without a flat global roaming plan have been charged with huge roaming bills, after travelling to vacations in Europe.

Just 2 weeks in Ireland and England resulted in a bill of $3.000 to a US traveller !!!

When he was offered a $100 credit, he felt insulted, and he sent letters to the chief executives of AT&T and Apple. The story of his bill quickly spread around the Internet. Before long, he was given a full credit.

AT&T is not automatically crediting customers for such charges. Each complaint about roaming charges was being evaluated case by case.

Therefore it is recommended to set the Data Roaming to "off" and to turn the Automatic checking in your email settings to "Manual" !!!
